Frequently Asked Questions

What are your rates? Does that include digital files?

My session fee is $500 and includes a $500 product credit, which may be used to purchase digital files, prints, albums and more. Most clients invest $750 or more in their session and products. Please inquire for my product menu.

Every print or product purchased comes with a corresponding social media file of the same image. This is a web-resolution digital image and serves the purpose of sharing online, which is why most clients ask about the digital files.

Do we own the copyrights to our images?

I own the copyrights; however, you will receive a personal use license to print and share your images with friends and family, should you purchase your digital files. Click here to read the entire use license.

Do you photograph any pets other than dogs?

Absolutely! I will photograph most any pet!

My dog is shy/hyper/nervous/untrained/etc. – is it still possible to do a photo shoot?

Yes! Any dog can turn into a model with the right amount of patience, treats, toys, and understanding!

My dog needs to remain on a leash. Is that ok for photos?

Safety is always a major concern, so I actually prefer your dog stay on a leash in a public place. If needed, I’ll bring along a very long lead so your dog can roam as if he/she was completely free. Most of the time, leashes can be removed in post-production if they distract from the image.

Can I/my family be in the pictures?

Sure thing! I love capturing the relationship between pets and their people! Please keep in mind that I don’t shoot posed family portraits, so your images will have a more candid feel with the focus remaining on your pet.

Can I bring along a friend/spouse/kids to the shoot?

Unless the people in question are going to be in the pictures, it is best if they stay at home. The less distractions your pet has, the better he/she will perform at the shoot.

How do I choose a location? Do you have any suggestions?”

The best locations are places your dog is comfortable – your backyard, a local park, or areas along your daily walk. Does your dog enjoy going out on the boat, to the coffee shop, or swimming in the pool? Telling a story with your dog’s favorite routine can be fun & creative.

Do you travel? What is the cost?

Yes, I do! My travel rates depend on location, so please inquire for specifics.

What if the weather doesn’t cooperate?

Weather is very important for the success of the session, as I prefer to shoot with sunny skies a couple hours before sunset. If the weather is cloudy or rainy, we can simply reschedule for another day.

Do you offer mini portrait sessions?

Because of my dedication to quality and the client experience, I do not offer mini pet portrait sessions. Every now and then, I will donate my services for a charity event with quick in-and-out portraits which may not really give your pet a chance to show his/her personality.

A typical portrait session is an investment of 1-2 hours of shooting/your pet getting comfortable with the camera to get achieve the quality images that I deliver and I will not compromise that quality by rushing the process.

How do we book you?

You will receive your own private online portal where you sign the contract and pay your retainer.

What types of payment do you accept?

I accept cash, check, or credit card. Your order will not be placed until 50% of the balance is received and no products will be delivered until the total balance is paid in full.

Is the retainer refundable at any point?

Sorry, it is not. The retainer fee and all monies paid are non-refundable. The retainer guarantees that I will hold the date and time exclusively for you and once you’ve signed the contract, I turn down all other requests for your time.

How long before the images are ready?

Your images will be ready for viewing around 2 weeks after your session date. Your prints and products will be ready 2-4 weeks from your order placement and/or designs being approved. Please schedule accordingly if you are planning a session for a gift or special occasion.

How long do you keep my images?

Your images are backed up and kept safe for a period of three months following your session date. After that date, the files are deleted.

How long have you been in business?

I have been in business since 2009.

Is this your full-time job?

Yes, it is. I have been a full-time photographer since 2013. As a professional, I take my work and reputation very seriously. This is not just a hobby for me.

Do you have equipment & liability insurance?

Yes, I do. I am happy to provide proof upon request.

If you have additional questions, please don’t hesitate to ask!
